Lake Geneva is a city in Walworth County, Wisconsin, USA. The population was 7,651 at the 2010 census. A resort city located on Geneva Lake, it is popular with tourists from metropolitan Chicago and Milwaukee. Excerpt taken from Google maps.
Originally called “Muck-Suck” (Big Foot) for a Potawatomi chief, the city was later named Geneva after the town of Geneva, New York, located on Seneca Lake, to which early settler John Brink saw a resemblance. Geneva, to avoid confusion with the nearby town of Geneva, Illinois, was renamed Lake Geneva; later the lake was renamed Geneva Lake.
In 1968, Hugh Hefner built his first Playboy resort in Lake Geneva. The club closed in 1981 and in 1982 was converted into the Americana Resort, and in 1993 to the present Grand Geneva Resort.
Royal Records (formerly Shade Tree Studios) was a Lake Geneva music recording studio where artists such as Ministry, Cheap Trick, Queensryche, Crash Test Dummies, Iron Maiden, Nine Inch Nails, and Skidrow have recorded albums. Excerpts taken from Wikipedia.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]
The SC Wake SeaDek Fabricating Team would like to introduce one of our newest installers Chris Geng. Chris grew up in the northern Illinois area. This gave Chris the opportunity to experience the excitement of Lake Geneva as a child first hand. Chris says he remembers the rides in the back of a pickup truck heading to Fontana most weekends during his childhood.
Welcome Chris ‘Kiker’ Geng! It is a real pleasure having you as part of our SC Wake SeaDek fabrication and installation team! Having a true native to the Great Lakes area representing us in the Lake Geneva, Milwakee and Chicago, Illinois takes things to a whole new level for us here at SC Wake. We look so forward to seeing your future project completions soon.
Lake Geneva has been a playground for many Illinois residents especially for the affluent Chicago folks for many generations. The lake is naturally spring fed at 7.5 miles long with a max depth of 144 ft.
Originally opened in 1968 as the Lake Geneva Playboy Club Hotel, the lush property served as a luxury escape for Midwest travelers. The first Playboy Club Hotel to open in the U.S., the resort brought a touch of glamour to the small lakeside community. At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Lake Geneva government officials and local dignitaries joined Hugh Hefner in celebrating the resort’s grand opening.
Along with Lake Geneva, Chris will be working in areas like Door County and Milwaukee. At the confluence of Green Bay and Lake Michigan, Wisconsin’s Door County serves up an abundance of natural amenities augmented with historical attractions that earned the 75-mile-long peninsula a place on Money Magazine’s list of “Top 10 Vacation Destinations in North America.” Excerpt from Discoverboating.com.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]
